A Pasco County dentist, Miranda Smith, who is the owner of Giggles Dentistry for children and Adults, was charged with Medicaid Provider fraud. She was accused of pulling healthy teeth from patients in order to try and sell them dentures.
According to investigators she billed Florida’s Medcaid program over $140,000 in dental services which were not authorized or provided. Fraudulent charges included x-rays, anesthesia, etc.
In addition to the fraud, many of her employees who were providing dental care, were not even licensed!
She is facing 10 years in jail, and her dental license was pulled
