New Port Richey cop and girlfriend arrested! Allegedly fleeing deputy & speeding motorcycles over 100 mph

Francis Downey age 26, was charged with felony feeling to elude and was also issued a speeding ticket for driving 86 mph in a 50 mph zone.

Investigators say a deputy with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office saw two motorcycles driving at speeds of 86 mph and 89 mph at 2:34 a.m. March 24 on Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville.

“I activated my emergency lights, to which the motorcycles took off at a high rate of speed,” said the deputy in the arrest affidavit.

The deputy followed the motorcycles on Cortez Boulevard and clocked one of the motorcycles going 120 mph in a 50 mph zone.
