Mother and Daughter Try to Steal Elderly Woman’s Home?

Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a mother and daughter and charged them with exploitation of the elderly after they defrauded a woman through the use of her checks and credit card and also attempted to take her home.

Cecilia Louise Dellavecchia, 55, and her daughter, Bianca Marie Dellavecchia, 20, are each charged with exploitation of the elderly, theft from a person older than 65 and unlawful filing of a false document. They both have a bond of $105,000 and they each remain in the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center.

Cecilia Dellavecchia befriended the 81-year-old woman in an assisted living facility in 2013. In July 2014, Cecilia began to help the woman with errands and personal care. Cecilia engaged her daughter in the care and they each began pressuring the victim to write checks to them of varying amounts. The checks totaled more than $3,000. The pair also used the woman’s credit to purchase more than $6,000 worth of goods. Additionally, the suspects attempted to gain power of attorney over the victim and tried to transfer ownership of the victim’s home into their names.

If any of our elderly citizens believe they are the target of a crime, please use these resources for help. Also, call the Pasco Sheriff’s Office at (727) 847-8102.
