Pasco Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a New Port Richey woman and charged her with filing a false police report after she lied about being robbed at gunpoint while at work.
Tyceira Placido, 21, reported an armed robber threatened her with a pistol and stole more than $5,700 from the business, Metro PCS, in December. As the case was being investigated, it was determined Placido gave a number of inconsistent statements. Once confronted by detectives, Placido confessed to fabricating the robbery story and actually stealing the money for her own use. Placido was arrested for filing a false police report and grand theft and taken to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center. She was release on $2,150 bond.
